In the summer of 2012 there was a big storm and a big limb from an old maple tree in Brooklyn, NY came down. With the help of a stranger, I got that branch in my car and took it to the woodshop to cut up. Fast forward four years and I still have a few small scraps left. But what to make with such small scraps?

The answer it turns out is hand carved scoops. There wasn't enough wood for a full sized spoon, but a scoop doesn't need a long handle. Though I wouldn't reccommend for precise messuring, Mama scoop is 1/2 tbsp and Baby scoop is 1/2 tsp. They'd make a great coffee and sugar scooping set, but use them for whatever tickles your fancy.
